Russia’s
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has expressed his hope that the US
administration won’t prop the Senate’s initiative to slap fresh
sanctions on Iran.
Speaking at today’s press conference, the minister urged the US administration and its president to handle this “excessive measure of American lawmakers.”
He stressed that a new package of sanctions would create a tense atmosphere ahead of the Baghdad talks with Tehran.
